Summary of Services

Protein Concentration

Method: Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry
Instrument: UV-1800, Shimadzu

Protein Purity and Integrity

Method: Microchip Capillary Gel Electrophoresis
Instrument: Bioanalyzer 2100, Agilent Technologies

This on-chip electrophoresis system is conducive for rapid, precise quality analysis of biopharmaceuticals. Proteins are labeled with a fluorescent dye for enhanced sensitivity. Data acquired includes relative protein size and purity. SDS-denenatured samples are run under reduced and non-reduced conditions. The linear range of the method using the HSP-250 kit is from 10 to 250 kDa and the lower detection limit is ~0.5 ng. The microfluidic design permits analysis of small sample volumes.
